Exterior

Sleek shape

The Civic's distinctive design features a chrome front grille and cut-off tail.  The flowing lines of the body convey a contemporary sportiness, while retaining Honda's legendary levels of style and practicality.

Halogen headlamps

The headlamp assemblies feature a clear one-piece outer lens that wrap around the Civic's front corners with the turn signals housed inside.  The dual halogen bulbs cast a beam far and wide, offering outstanding illumination. 

Circular rear lamps

The Civic's dual circular rear lamps feature a reflective inner-cube design during illumination.  The stylish red brake light lenses are surrounded by clear outer lenses for turn signals and reversing lamps.

Opposable wipers

We abandoned traditional wipers in favour of a more innovative design.  Each wiper uses a flat blade which provides better aerodynamics and covers 17% more of the screen than conventional wipers.

Alloy wheels

The Civic VTi-L model features 16 inch alloy wheels (pictured), while the Civic Sport model is further accentuated by larger 17 inch alloys.  All Civic models benefit from a full-size spare wheel.

Dual exhaust pipes

The rear profile is finished off with low-slung, integrated dual chrome exhaust pipes. The exhaust system itself employs a high-density catalytic converter that helps produce lower emissions.

Interior

Multiplex meter

A digital speedo is housed in an upper level binnacle, allowing you to check your speed while keeping your eyes on the road.  The tacho and warning lights are placed on the lower level closer to the steering wheel.

Air conditioning

All Civic models include air conditioning as standard.  The Civic VTi-L and Sport models also benefit from an automatic climate control system that keeps the interior at your desired temperature.

4-speaker audio

The 4-speaker CD player and AM/FM tuner features a speed sensitive volume control.  Civic VTi-L and Sport models also include an in-dash 6-CD stacker and steering-wheel mounted audio controls.

Tilt & telescopic steering column

It's easy to find the perfect driving position in the Civic. The steering column is adjustable for reach as well as rake, so all drivers will feel equally as comfortable behind the wheel.

Cruise control

Keep your eyes on the road, rather than the speedo, with Civic's intelligent cruise control system. The buttons for all cruise control operations are located on the steering wheel for quick and easy operation.

Centre console & armrest

The generous centre storage console includes a comfortable, padded armrest that slides forward 8 centimeters for extra comfort.  When extended, it does not restrict access to the gear shifter or cupholders.

Engineering

1.8 litre i-VTEC engine

The 1.8 litre i-VTEC 4 cylinder engine in the Civic VTi and VTi-L models delivers 103 kW of power and 174 Nm of torque.  It's power that you'd expect from a 2.0 litre, while having the fuel economy of a 1.5 litre.

2.0 litre i-VTEC engine

The Civic Sport is propelled by a more powerful 2.0 litre i-VTEC engine with double overhead camshafts.  With a potent 114 kW of power and 188 Nm of torque, it's the gruntiest Civic ever.

Drive-by-wire throttle

The Civic features a drive-by-wire throttle system.  This replaces the conventional throttle cable with an all-electronic system, enabling better communication with the transmission for a smoother drive.

Transmission choice

All Civic models have a choice between a slick-shifting 5-speed manual or the convenience of a 5-speed automatic.  The Civic Sport even includes gear shift paddles on the steering wheel in the automatic model.

Suspension

We have refined the traditional strut suspension to link the MacPherson front to the reactive double wishbone rear.  This results in ultra-intuitive control, outstanding manoeuvrability and a compliant ride.

Fuel efficiency

The combined fuel consumption for Civic VTi and VTi-L models is a miserly 6.9 (manual) and 7.2 (auto) litres per 100km*.  The Civic Sport's larger engine uses only 8.3 (manual) / 8.4 (auto) litres per 100km*.

Safety

Anti-lock brakes

Civic's anti-lock braking system (ABS) stops you going into a skid under hard braking, whilst the advanced Electronic Brakeforce Distribution system (EBD) spreads the optimum braking force between front and rear.

Airbags

All Civic models include front airbags for the driver and front passenger.  Civic VTi-L and Sport models also feature side airbags for driver and front passenger, while Civic Sport even has curtain airbags front and rear.

Front seatbelt pretensioners

All five seating positions are fitted with 3-point seatbelts. Front seat passengers also receive the added benefit of seatbelt pretensioners and anti-whiplash active headrests for even greater protection.

Keyless entry & immobiliser

Keyless entry and an immobilser are standard on all Civic models. Meanwhile, your CDs and shopping will be safer in the Civic VTi-L and Sport models thanks to a fully integrated security alarm system.

G-force control

In the event of an accident, Honda’s ingenious technology called G-force control (G-CON) immediately moderates the force of the impact, cocooning you and your passengers in a potentially life-saving ‘survival zone.
